Habitat for Humanity PEI Fundraising Committee

Volunteer Appreciation Week

Volunteer Appreciation Week April 15-21

At Habitat for Humanity PEI, we love our volunteers and we couldn’t have built 61 homes in the last 22 years without them. Habitat for Humanity PEI Volunteers give their time to the great cause of giving a hand up, not a hand out to families on PEI. Whether it’s working at our Restore, on the build site, at a fundraiser, an event, or even providing lunch for other volunteers, it all comes down to giving a family the strength, confidence, and stability that comes with home ownership. With their help, we are able to keep our overhead costs down which means more money for building homes.
These special people are rewarded with smiles, hugs, sometimes coffee and treats but mostly with the knowledge they are doing something more than just for themselves; that they are making a difference in the world but helping out in their community.
We would like to take a few minutes out of our busy schedule to thank and show appreciation to our volunteers here on PEI and around the world that have seen the joy in their hard work.

Stop into the Restore, meet a volunteer, and ask why they love spending time with us.
We have a few things planned for them this week and a special award in memory of Doug Kennedy.
Doug was an outstanding man and volunteer who loved being at the ReStore every day and kept the moral high with treats and encouragement. We would like to honor Doug and a volunteer who has shown a passion for their fellow co-workers and a dedication to Habitat for Humanity PEI’s mission.

Stay tuned for the announcement next week.
