Habitat for Humanity PEI’s Vision 2020

Habitat for Humanity PEI is taking a big step in 2019 with 4 builds, and a bigger step for 2020-2021 for Island families with the hopes to build 20 homes in the Charlottetown area – we call this Vision 2020.
This ambitious project was set into motion by HFPEI CEO, Aaron Brown, when the affiliate decided to take a year off from building to focus on the business instead of just in the business.

In the past, HFHPEI, has been nationally recognized for its building capacity per capital for the 3-5 homes built per year. All 61 houses built have been single family homes based on the family’s needs. Vision 2020 plans to build town houses (16 units) and 4 single family homes to serve even more families of all walks of life but with special focus on veterans, refugees, and families that are affected by disability and meet the program criteria. A project of this magnitude for PEI requires help from many sources:

  • HFHPEI – staff, volunteers, ReStore income, fundraising initiatives

  • Provincial and Federal Government

  • CMHC

  • New Comers Association

  • Council of People with Disabilities

  • Veterans Affairs

  • UPEI Engineering

  • Canada Builds and Global Village Build Teams

  • Habitat Canada and local material suppliers

  • Partner families

Just to name a few this early into the project.

Everyone deserves to know the strength, stability, and confidence that comes with home ownership.
